When can I wash my repaired wheels?
- The clear fully cures in 24 hours. So the next day you should be able to wash your wheels. Please see the instructions below on how to properly wash your wheels to maintain them looking good for a long time.
What is the best way to wash and clean my wheels?
- Mild soap and water is the best way to care for your wheels. Use only a soft sponge or a soft bristle brush. Harsh chemicals like acids will clean your wheels faster but will also damage the clear coat. These chemicals will penetrate the clear and make your wheels dull overtime. It does take longer to wash them this way but the results are worth it.
Can you color match the paint on my wheels?
- Most European factory colors are very similar. I can match most factory wheels. Some custom colors may be a little harder to match. In most cases is it next to impossible to contact the wheel manufacturer and get the paint code. I once spent three hours with an aftermarket wheel manufacturer on the phone trying to get the corect paint code for a set of wheels. Even after all that time spent trying they were not able to help me. My customer decided to use a color that is very similar and was very happy with the results.
What grade paint is used to paint wheels?
- I only use automotive paint. I only do a two stage process. Other wheel repair shops use a one stage process where the paint is mixed with the clear coat to cut corners.
Can you fix bent or craked rims?
- At this time I am concentrating on cosmetic damage and color changes.
Can you repair chrome wheels?
- Chrome wheels require special chemicals and a special process which by law can not be used in the State of Georgia due to it’s impact on the environment.
Can you paint over chrome?
- Due to the nature of the chrome plating it is very dificult to make the paint stick to chrome surfaces.
Can you change the color on my wheels?
- Color changes are available. Pricing depends on the color wanted, wheels design and if there is damage to be repaired first. Please note when matching the wheel color to the car the wheels may look a little different since the car’s paint has had time to weather overtime.
What about polishing my wheels?
- Wheel polishing is available. I need the wheel by itself and keep your wheels for a few days. It is time consuming and it is priced depending on the kind of wheel design. Email me a picture and I can reply with an estimate.
What is your warranty?
- One year against chipping or flaking. If I paint a wheel and the paint chips or flakes I will gladly redo it. This does not apply to a wheel that has obvious damage due to curbing, scratching or accident damage.
